Sugar Daddy, Jason Todd. The Rumors, answered?

By: Lois Lane

There was a rumor that had started in Gotham. This rumor consisted of Jason Todd, the third child of Bruce Wayne, funding Red Hood, a vigilante and previous Crime Lord of Park Row, which I nicknamed ‘Crime Alley’ by the residents of Gotham. This place is very dangerous, having the highest crime rates in any other place of Gotham. Which is hard to beat, given that it is Gotham.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting and getting to interview the Wayne family at a recent gala Bruce Wayne hosted at his own residence. While I was there I was able to get their opinions on this recent upbringing, they all had different opinions and answers.

The first person I interviewed was Bruce Wayne, it was a rather quick interview as he was quick to push my questions aside, but I was able to get his opinion.

When asked how he felt about his son funding the previous crime lord, Red Hood, he stated, “It’s none of my business. What Jason does with his money is none of my concern. He is a grown man. If he would happen to be funding Red Hood I would have no say or control over him.”

I then went on to ask about how he felt about it if he was funding Red Hood, given that he used to be a crime lord, having killed before. Mr. Wayne’s response was quick as he told me there was no comment on his end and he requested no more questions once I was done.

The second person who was interviewed was Jason Todd’s only older brother, Richard Grayson, or as he calls himself, Dick Grayson. I was quick to ask him as he was busy, much like his father.

I asked him the same questions as I asked Mr. Wayne, and he answered very differently. “I believe that Jason can do what he wants with his money. And if it’s being a Sugar Daddy, I don’t care. Maybe he likes doing that.” Is what Grayson claimed as I asked him what he felt about Jason supposedly funding the old crime lord Red Hood.

I then went on to ask about the fact he had once been a Crime Lord and his opinions on it, and he gave a straight answer. “If he thinks he's hot, that’s okay. I think men in masks are hot too.” Is what Grayson had answered for the second question.

I then went on to ask 1 last question to make sure I had a good idea of this. I had asked him if he believed Jason Todd was in fact funding Red Hood and he answered it dull and straight, like he had his other questions, “Maybe, I mean Jason type is unknown to me. But maybe he’s not even funding him because he thinks Red Hood is hot, maybe he’s just doing it because he wants to support a cool vigilante. I’d do the same personally if I had the money.”

The third person I had interviewed was Cassandra Cain, Jason Todd’s sister who’s only older than him by a couple months.

When asked the first question she sighed and gave a short answer. “I do not think I have an opinion.” She told me, it was very similar to what he father Mr. Wayne had claimed, so I asked her the last two questions too to see if she had the same opinion. She did not.

When I asked her how she felt about Red Hood being a previous Crime Lord she had given me another quick answer, “I do not care. He wouldn’t care either. He’s a good man, and he thinks good.”

I had then asked Mrs. Cain if she believed it was true and all she said was yes before walking away.

The last people I interviewed were Timothy Drake and Duke Thomas. Both of them were together when I went around interviewing the Wayne family.

When I asked them how they felt about it they gave polar opposite answers. “I think it’s fine. I mean for all I know, he’s actually doing it.” Is what Drake claimed before Thomas gave his own opinion, “I don’t mind. I mean, he’s trying to help a vigilante who’s giving Justice to the place he grew up. I think if there was a vigilante who helped protect The Narrows I would probably find them. I grew up there, and I think it should have more protection for the bat people, or whatever they’re called.”

I went on ahead and asked how they felt about Red Hood being a crime lord like I did the rest of his family. Drake was quick with his answer, “I think that Red Hood is an asshole. I’ve had the displeasure of being saved from a kidnapping from him once. He likes to chat with the kidnappers, he’s not a nice guy. I mean sure he’s nice to the residents of Crime Alley, but not rich people. I mean, sure, there could be a reason, but if you’re going to be a vigilante I think you should be nice and help everyone.” Thomas had also answered as quickly as he could, “I’ve also met Red Hood, and I think he’s not as bad as Tim’s putting him out to be. I met him before I was adopted so that could be a factor in why he was nice to me, but even so, I think he’s a good guy.”

I then asked them if they thought the rumor was true and they both agreed in their own way, Thomas was the first one to answer this time, “Yes I think he is. It would just make sense to me.” Drake was nodding his head as Thomas spoke, “I agree. I do think he is funding Red Hood. Yeah.”

I had tried to interview the last Wayne, Damian Wayne, but he had avoided the question when I asked and refused to answer. So for the most part I had been able to interview 5 people, Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Cassandra Cain, Timothy Drake, and Duke Thomas. All of them but Bruce Wayne had agreed that they think Jason Todd does in fact fund the previous crime lord Red Hood. So here it could be said that Red Hood is in fact funded by Jason Todd.
