Serial Number Lookup? Taurus Customer Service number at 1-800-327-3776. Just reran my serial numbers today at the Taurus Website and it seems to. All but one of my Taurus guns were in their lookup system (I think it was my PT145, but that wasn't a big deal as I found how to decipher that serial number elsewhere - BTW from what I've been able to gather the Millenium series guns are the only ones Taurus manufactures that are date coded). Under federal law, a gun manufacturer or importer must engrave or mark every gun it makes with a serial number on the receiver or frame. Law enforcement agents can use the number to determine the owner of the gun or learn if it was reported stolen, but a private individual cannot.
